It's been a while since the last post so I thought it would be good to give an update.

The travel plans have been set and a group of 10 will be departing February 12 from Milwaukee.

I was just thinking, we doubled our size just in one trip, can you imagine how big this could get if we grow this way?  Awesome idea I think!

We will be having one more fund raising event prior to this year's travel.  It is yet another of our spectacular rummage sales held in the lower level of the Church.

It will run from January 24th thru January 26th, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Please come by and say hi, be sure to bring FRAN!

We are anticipating the usual overwhelming support from our church family.

We could not do the things we do, without you!  We continually thank God to be so blessed!

Projects For February 2008 in the Dominican Republic

I have recently talked with William Gomez and David Savage about the project in the Dominican Republic. Both assure us that Jonas, the minister of the Santa Lucia church, will be thrilled that we want to complete the basketball court next to the church. Jonas purchased the land out of his own money and it will cost about $1200 to finish the court. The church will use this as an outreach for the teens that live in the area of the city dump. It will be a safe place for them to play and a way for the church to provide for the poorest of the Santiago children. They will also give bible studies for the young people as they expand their ministry.

The other project we will be involved in will be the retreat center in the mountains outside of Santiago. William tells me that they have begun to have retreats there at the center as planned eventhough the dorms are not completely finished. We look forward to continuing to build this project as we learn from Grasesqui and Ramona about how to serve the Lord with joy and humility.
